Book Tour 2024

“Michael Aubrecht’s presentation left his audience eager to learn more, and we await his return with his new book. Michael is invited back anytime.” – Nicole D. Wilfong, Public Program Coordinator, Manassas Museum

My new book will hit the shelves on April 1, 2024. I know it might seem early, but I am already thinking ahead to scheduling a book tour. Over the past few weeks, I have received a couple inquiries about my availability. My goal is to address as wide a range of audiences as possible. This includes places like museums, churches, universities, bookstores, libraries, and roundtables. The subject matter is universal and should fit any audience with an interest on Jefferson and/or the statute. I’ve put together a talk and complimentary PowerPoint for speaking engagements and have already drafted a promotional blurb:

Prior to his death Thomas Jefferson left behind specific instructions for the monument that was to mark his grave. He requested the following epitaph: “Here was buried Thomas Jefferson, Author of the Declaration of American Independence, of the Statute of Virginia for Religious Freedom and Father of the University of Virginia.” These contributions were in his words the “testimonials that I have lived, I wish most to be remembered.” Fredericksburg historian Michael Aubrecht, author of “Thomas Jefferson and the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom: Faith and Liberty in Fredericksburg,” tells the tale of the creation of this remarkable document and the influence it continues to have. A book signing will be held following Michael’s talk. Copies will be available.

This book is ideal for opening a discussion about Thomas Jefferson, the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, and how it is commemorated today. It isn’t too early to reach out if you are interested in having me speak in person or online. Weekends will be ideal, but I will also have some weekdays free as well. Even if we can’t finalize a date, let’s start having a dialog. April is just a few months away.
